What Is Going On With Elle & J?

Buenos tardes people. I tend to blog about random things and only talk about my books a little bit here and there. I thought I'd write a blog dedicated to L&J since Us has been released and Elle and J finally got their HEA... or did they?

I wrote Steel & Ice for a year in secrecy, not wanting to tell anyone in case I didn't finish it. Although it's rough around the edges and I know my writing got better with each book, it was the beginning of a journey for me. It was also the beginning of a journey I would take with a grip of fictional characters who became my children. Eh, maybe not my children, but they are very much a part of me. Each book found me more and more lost in the world of Missouri Mayhem. It's a surreal feeling, truly. I talk about these characters like they really exist, and thankfully I've found people in my life who are willing to listen to me ramble.

Us is not the final book in the series, but it wraps up quite a bit of Elle and J's love affair. Kinda like the Undeniable series, you will get more of Elle and J in the next books in the series. (Did I mention I just read UnBeloved and it was AWESOME!?) I realize there is still a lot hanging when it comes to the MC. Yes, I did that on purpose.  I, personally, don't like series where the first couple books are full of action and adventure, and then the next books are just romances with people bringing drama on themselves. Like, the action runs out, man. The next books in the L&J series (which I might need to rename...) still have a lot of action yet to come. So I hope you are all down for the ride, cuz I got all kinds of fun lined up for ya.

I received a few questions from readers already that I want to address, but can't due to spoilers. As I said above, the story of Missouri Mayhem is far from over. Anything that was not resolved at the end of Us was done so purposefully. As well, I introduced new characters (Isabel, Cash, and Link to name a few) and you have to wait to find out what's up with them. And I can promise you, I have a plan for all of them as well as José :)

If you want to message me on any of the following social media sites, feel free. I'll answer your questions about anything you felt was unresolved at the end of Us. I have an answer most likely because I have a plan for everyone :)

There will be a tour for Us in late August and I will have more of Barbara Young's fabulous handmade glass jewelry to raffle off.  If you haven't read Steel & Ice, you need to. Gotta start somewhere, and Steel & Ice is where it's at.

OK, going to get back to writing my next book. Wanna know what it is? Sorry, you're SOL. It's a secret for now :)

Happy reading mi gente-

Us is live!!

Us (L&J 3) is live!

Well folks, I finally got it together and was able to publish last night. It's been a helluva ride, but I think this is the best book of the series so far. I hope you all agree. Although I'd like to write more, I am going to relax! Maybe read more of Thrive by the Ritchie Sisters and sip one of the two Dos XX that I have in the fridge.

Saludos!

Melinda, Lili St. Germain, Me, and The Ritchie Sisters

Hello people. I've been a stranger, but I've got most of the edits back on Us and have been hard at work getting it all set for publication. I want to take a moment to give a shout out to Melinda. She's edited 4 out of the 5 books in the L&J series. (She didn't edit the first one, and that's my excuse for why it's the worst one. Or because it was the first book I ever wrote. Either one will work.) I'm half way through her edits and I don't know why I'm so surprised. I should be used to the fact that she is the Editing Queen. Nevertheless, I find myself thinking, "Damn, she even caught the lacking accent mark in órale!!" Maybe by the next book I will stop being amazed at her mad skills.

Or not, but I can't say thank you enough to Melinda for taking time out of her busy life to not just find typos, but to make what I write flow better. Not to mention the fact that she catches things I totally fucked up. Sometimes as a writer, we get in the zone and just type, sorta forgetting shit as we go cuz there is so  much going on in our heads. Melinda has actually made a timeline of my stories to be sure I didn't fuck anything up. Really, who does that? Melinda, that's who, and I'm the lucky recipient.

So to Melinda—THANK YOU!!

Moving on, Three Years. Damn, Lili St. Germain.

Three Years (Gypsy Brothers, #5)

Though it was a little heavy on graphic torture descriptions for my taste, the ending left me ready to throw my Kindle across the room. I didn't as there is no carpet in Mexico, and the tile floor would surely break my precious baby. Jase, Juliette, and Elliot have got me on pins and needles over here waiting to see what happens to them. September. Really? I have to wait until September? What will I do in the meantime?

I know.
Thrive (Addicted, #2.5)

Next up: Thrive. I have been twitching I'm so hard up for some more Lily and Lo.

Gotta be responsible and finish my own book, though   :(   There are so many good books that just came out, but I need to keep my author hat on.

On a related note, I started a new book while I was waiting on edits. It's a standalone. I think. Steel & Ice was a standalone and look what happened. Regardless, I am going to do my best to deliver a standalone that should make you cry and laugh, cuz that's how I like to do it. The heroine is sassy, though not as gritty as Elle. She also is a singer. Can I sing? Well, I have a mouth, so yes. Can I sing well? Heavens no! But in book world, I'm the white Sade, baby :)

Well, this was my break from editing, so I should get back to it. I'll leave you with more Mexico musings. I think more of these are sober musings, but you never know ;)

En Mexico, parte 2
  • There are Whoo-Girls here too. I'm sitting on the shitter and they're whoo-ing in the bathroom. Fur realz. (OK, so this one obviously wasn't sober...)
  • Men wear tight pants. Some tight roll their pants. Or, depending on your ethnicity, you might call it pegging their pants. Either way, it's straight 1990 style. Not sure what's up with it, but I've seen it quite a bit.
  • You will need to learn to be less direct. It offends people. But then again, if you're the bitchy American, you might not care. Eh.
  • It's OK if your bra is showing in a way that would be considered inappropriate by American standards. It's fine here.
  • If you're a woman, you better have some skinny jeans.
  • Plan to work out if you want to fit into those skinny jeans, cuz the bread is outta this world.
  • People cry in the club. Not sure what's up with this, but I think it's just the extra emotion people show in general. Those damn Puritans turned  Americans into some stoic mo fo's. Get ready for people to cry on your shoulder—in the house, on the street, or yes, in the club.
  • Most things happen tomorrow.
  • Even though you've told the Dish guy you don't have a TV, he'll keep coming back to your door. You can keep answering the door when he knocks... or not.
  • Hope you're not allergic to sulfates, cuz if so, you are going to be driving all over town to find some dye free, paraben free, alcohol free, or sulfate free health and beauty products. And as for finding laundry soap that's dye free, well, good luck. I'm still looking.

Hasta mañana mi gente-

Us Cover & 808s

Hello people!!!

Us, the final book in the L&J Trilogy, is almost ready to go. I'm gonna keep this blog short as I need to get back to it! I'm putting the final touches on the book before sending it out to the editors. (The friends I beg to read it. Holla if you want a crack at it.)

There will be more books to come in the series, but they will be about different characters. I foresee Chris getting her book first, though I'm contemplating writing a standalone next that's been keeping me up at night. As I've learned in Spanish recently- Ya veremos. We'll see. Lemme finish this one first. (I can be a lit lofty in my aspirations sometimes...)

I have a raffle going on you can access at this link:
http://www.rafflecopter.com/rafl/disp...

There is lots of good stuff--books and jewelry. Plus TONS of ways to enter. So head on over and check it out.

Thanks for all the support, especially from the Ayala family. I can't thank you all enough for opening your home and your city to me.

Mariana- I don't know what I'd do without you. I miss you so much! I wish you were here in Morelia having adventures with me. I'll catch you up at Christmas when I return to Sabinas :)

And thank you to La Violencia Records, who have been hella cool with me since arriving in Mexico. They've provided the rap and hip-hop that keeps me from getting too homesick. You will find a link to their page on the rafflecopter, but in case you miss it, check it at:
https://www.facebook.com/LaViolenciaRecords

Go like their page. Do it for me. The foreigner in a foreign land who just wants a 'lil grindin' music so she can write those steamy scenes for ya'll :)

Anyhoo, here's the cover I've been waiting on, and making YOU all wait on. Enjoy.
(This wasn't that short was it? Oh well... Back to writing.)
